The Mother Tongue Unit is responsible for mother tongue education and study guidance for students with a mother tongue other than Swedish. The Mother Tongue Unit supports students so they can benefit from their work in school while developing their bilingual identity and competence. The Mother Tongue Unit has an office at Tappström School, located centrally in Ekerö center. All teaching takes place in the municipality's schools.

Job Description

In Ekerö Municipality, teachers have time for the children and teaching – today we are one of Sweden's leading school municipalities. To provide students with the best conditions, our municipal schools continuously share experiences and lessons with each other. Here, we see collegial learning as a prerequisite for students' development.

We are looking for a mother tongue teacher in Polish. In your role as a mother tongue teacher in Ekerö Municipality, you will teach students from preschool to high school. Teaching takes place throughout the municipality's schools, both within the urban area and outside. The work should be conducted in such a way that students' personal development is promoted and their self-esteem is strengthened. The goal is for students to effectively benefit from their work in school while developing their bilingual identity and competence.

Mother tongue education is a separate subject in primary and secondary school, so grading of students may occur. We expect you to have a successful approach to meeting students based on their diversity and see the benefits of collaborating with colleagues. Within the assignment, there are opportunities for you to collaborate with other mother tongue teachers, SVA teachers, and subject teachers who teach in the schools.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should:

• speak Polish fluently and have it as your mother tongue
• have documented pedagogical experience

• teaching certification
• good knowledge of ICT
